Motivational Monday

Seeing as it is now on the run up to my birthday I thought it would be best to make this month’s motivational Monday have a Disney theme to it.

This is particularly helpful in keeping me sane as I have to face the reality of turning 25! Yes 25, as in a quarter of a century and that same age that you thought made you a proper adult back when you were a young minded teenager.

Of course I know that age is just a number and I will no doubt feel the exact same at 25 as I did at 24, 23 and 22. However I have to say there is something a bit scarier about 25, maybe because it means you are in your mid twenties or because I am now just as close to 30 as I am 20!

Regardless I am sure I am not alone in feeling like this but thing I will say is that despite this feeling I am still going to get up on my birthday and have the best time. I am still going to love watching the same movies as I did when I was 5 and I am still going to be filled with so much excitement whenever the time comes again for a family holiday to Florida. I still only want my mum when I don’t feel well and I will still make the mistake of making myself feel sick by eating too much chocolate. Why?

Because adult life is boring! Being an adult is something we all have to do but just like good old Walt Disney has also said

“Growing up is optional”

As long as you make sure your bills are paid, your family are taken care of and you do not get yourself into trouble then have fun! Eat too much chocolate, pretend the floor is lava, sing along to your favourite childhood songs. Just have fun!

I know I will look back on 25 when I’m in my 30’s and think I was still so young and naive so I’m going to get the most out of it because before I know it I’ll be 40 with an 18 year old niece that is no doubt embarrassed by me. I might as well make sure I’m making the right steps to being that auntie now.

Have a great week everyone.
